Maintenance Operative – Customer Care Department, North West region

Job Title:                            Customer Care Maintenance Operative

Location:                            North West region

Hours:                                40 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Reports to:                        Head of Customer Care

We are looking for a confident and self-motivated Maintenance Operative to join our energetic, customer focused team in our North West regional office. The post holder will be responsible for the day to day remediation of issues in customers’ homes.

The successful candidate will be able to work as part of a team or individually, be organised and have excellent time keeping skills, enjoy meeting members of the public and be honest and trustworthy.

Skills required:

  • Qualified carpenter or painter.
  • Experience of other trades preferred.
  • Experience of working in occupied homes.
  • Ability to work using own initiative.
  • Clean driving licence.

You will be expected to:

  • Undertake remedial work with respect to all trades including carpentry, painting, dry lining and any other duties as directed by the Head of Customer Care.
  • Undertake inspections of potential defects.
  • Source materials and equipment required to complete tasks.
  • Undertake regular customer liaison with customers in their homes.
  • Have the ability to remain calm and professional when faced with difficult situations.
  • Effectively communicate with the Customer Service Help Desk to ensure they are kept up to date.
  • Have the ability to communicate accurately at the same level of understanding with the customer.
  • Ensure that Health and Safety is followed and site regulations are adhered to at all times.
  • Demonstrate a good understanding of NHBC standards.
  • Have the ability to complete paperwork accurately and efficiently.
  • Good time keeping is essential and the ability to manage an electronic diary system will be needed.
  • Experience Lone working is beneficial.

A van and basic tools will be provided by the company for use during duration of employment.
