Stanley Brian Roberts is our newest resident at Higher Trewhiddle, at St Austell, Cornwall.
Parents Ruby Waterfield and Dave Roberts moved into a three-bedroom property on the development at the end of February and baby Stanley was born in July.
Ruby said: “It has just been the most joyous time. From reserving the house to moving in and decorating the nursey and then Stanley arriving.
“We were among the first to move in and we absolutely love it. We have had so much support and love from everyone on site it has been really, really nice.”
The couple are both local to St Austell and looking for their first home knew that they wanted a new build property.
Ruby explained: “My parents used to live in a 100-year-old property which was lovely but we definitely wanted the ease of a new build and the area is perfect for us. We had registered our interest really early and came as soon as sales launched.
“We initially looked at a two bedroom but had been saving hard during lock-down and realised we could afford a three bedroom – and it’s just as well we did!
“The sales consultant Jodie has been amazing all the way through and she was one of the first people we told we were expecting when we came to do a walk round of the house. She was so happy for us she burst into tears!”
Dave works locally for Trewithen Dairy and Ruby plans to go back to work as a nursery nurse – with the benefit that she can take Stanley with her.
She added: “A lot of other couples in their mid-20s are buying homes here and there is already a community friendly feel – we are recommending it to all our friends!
“It’s an area we love. Dave went to the primary school which is just up the road and I grew up near to an earlier Wain Homes development. I always used to wish I lived on an estate like this as a child. It seemed to offer kids such freedom, riding their bikes safely and calling for their mates.
“That is what we want for Stanley. We are really happy to be settled here in a lovely house, with lovely neighbours in a place that is home.”
