Summer House, Sandpit and Mud Kitchen all in a Day’s Work for Wain

Our team loves rising to a challenge so when Hambleton Primary School asked for our help to refurbish their outdoor areas we jumped at the chance.

Eight volunteers from our North West region, led by managing director Richard Chamberlain, visited the school near Poulton-Le-Fylde in Lancashire and spent a day relocating a summer house and building new outdoor furniture.

Known for going the extra mile, they also created a new sandpit and mud kitchen for the nursery children to enjoy.

The school, which is situated close to our Waterside Meadows development of new homes in Hambleton approached Wain Homes asking for support through our Helping Hands initiative.

Armed with buckets, spades and barrows, the team dug deep and had a brilliant day completing the refurbishment.

Louise Shaw, school business manager at Hambleton Primary Academy, said: “A BIG thank you to the team from Wain Homes who have helped us with the start of our early years outdoor project.

“We simply couldn’t have cleared and sorted the area without you.”

Wain Homes North West Managing Director, Richard Chamberlain, said: “We really enjoyed giving our time for such a fantastic school and the whole team worked so hard and had a great day.

“Our role as a responsible builder means we care about the communities we build in and we’re proud that everyone who works with us does too.

“Knowing the enjoyment the children will get from their new outdoor space makes it all worthwhile.”

We are still on the lookout for more charities and community groups who want the support of a team of Helping Hands. To request support, email helpinghands@wainhomes.co.uk or click here.
