Families with school-age children will be pleased to know there were 11 schools rated as “good” by Ofsted, including Witton Park Academy, Longshaw Infant School and St Anne’s Roman Catholic Primary School. Blackburn College is also home to over 500 students and is a key employer in the town.
Residents of Blackburn also have much in the way of green spaces to enjoy on their doorstep with 464,479 square metres of open space in and around the town. This includes Corporation Park, Witton Country Park, and Turton and Entwistle Reservoir.
Blackburn also has fantastic transport links to the rest of the North West and UK. The M56 motorway connects to the M6 and M61, with nearby Manchester a commutable distance. Manchester Airport is also just an hours’ drive away, while Blackpool Airport is just over half an hour.

Whilst the town offers a quieter location, there’s still much in the way of culture to enjoy at the Blackburn Empire Theatre and King George’s Hall, as well as the Blackburn Museum and Art Gallery.
