Braunton offers both the tranquility of a rural village setting but coupled with the charm of living by the sea. Braunton is a village that can be easily walked on foot, meaning you can get around without any hassle and stress, whilst you can head out in the countryside or take a trip to gorgeous Saunton Sands in minutes.
Although Braunton is a village, it’s a large and thriving one. Braunton is home to a variety of shops, cafes, bars, and pubs, including The George Inn and The Black Horse, with plenty of local businesses, plus national chains including a Tesco Superstore. You’ll find plenty to do in Braunton, whether that’s shopping, eating out, pilates, surfing, and more. The village has a strong sense of community and hosts a variety of events throughout the year, including Braunton Village Fair held every late May bank holiday.

It’s situated right in the heart of North Devon Biosphere Reserve, a nature reserve with a range of landscapes, including the largest sand dune system in England. To the west of the village lies Saunton Sands, a beautiful sand beach that’s grown popular with surfers, but that offers stunning views and a fun day out for family members of all ages.
A base in Braunton would give easy access to the surrounding region, including Barnstaple, Illfracomb, and Bideford, plus all that the North Devon Coast has to offer. Both Exeter and Taunton are both around an hour and twenty minutes away by car.

For those traveling further afield, the A361 connects to the North Devon Link Road, leading to the M5 motorway and beyond.
Public transport is well-served, with regular bus services to Barnstaple, Ilfracombe, and surrounding villages. Barnstaple Railway Station, just a short drive away, provides connections to Exeter and the national rail network. Exeter Airport, a little over an hour’s drive from Braunton, offers flights to destinations across the UK and Europe.
