WHY CHINLEY IS A GREAT PLACE TO LIVE
A home in Chinley offers the chance to live in a friendly, beautiful, rural Derbyshire village. You can make your home in a more tranquil and peaceful setting than larger urban areas, where there’s a strong sense of community, and a slower, healthier pace of life.
But despite being a rural village, Chinley has plenty to offer. It’s home to a selection of local businesses, including shops, cafes, and restaurants. Chinley has a village community centre, a Women's Institute hall, a local nature reserve, various local clubs and sports teams, and community events held throughout the year.
Chinley has its own primary school – Chinley Primary School – which is rated as “Good” by Ofsted, plus Peak School special school. Chapel-en-le-Frith High School is the local secondary school, found just over 1.5 miles away in the nearby town of Chapel-en-le-Frith. It is also rated as “Good”.
Of course, one of the best benefits of living in Chinley is being surrounded by nature and some truly spectacular countryside. The village sits in the Blackbrook Valley of the High Peak Borough of Derbyshire in the Peak District National Park, meaning Chinley is surrounded by rolling moorland and spectacular hills. You can walk, ride or drive out into some of the best hiking, climbing and picnic spots in the UK.
Chinley also benefits from great links throughout the region and beyond. Local towns and villages, like Chapel-en-le-Frith, Whaley Bridge, New Mills, Glossop, and Buxton can all be reached by local bus services. Chinley has its own railway station that’s on a line that terminates at Manchester Piccadilly and Sheffield at each end, with plenty of stops at local stations.
