The city still has a thriving independent music scene as well as hosting big name bands at the Coventry Building Society Arena. It is also home to the Albany Theatre, Belgrade Theatre and the Criterion Theatre. Both Warwick Castle and Kenilworth Castle are close by, ideal for days out with the kids at the weekend and during school holidays. As is The Wave water park, Fargo Village and Coombe Country Park.
Parents with school age children will be pleased to know that there are nine schools rated as “Outstanding” by Ofsted within three miles of the centre of Coventry. They include Sidney Stringer Academy, Eden Girls’ School, St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Primary School and Finham Park School. It is also home to two universities – Coventry University and the University of Warwick, which is in the southern outskirts of the city.
Coventry also has fantastic transport links – Birmingham Airport is just a 20-minute drive away in Solihull. The city is also close to the M1, M6, M40, M45 and M69 motorways connecting it with other towns and cities in the Midlands, London and the rest of the UK.
