There are also four universities in Lancashire; Lancaster University, UCLan, Edge Hill University and the University of Cumbria – the latter being based in Lancaster. The University of Manchester, Manchester Metropolitan University, Liverpool John Moore’s University and the University of Bolton are all close by too.
Lancashire is also blessed with much in the way of green open space, including the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Ribble Valley, Turton and Entwistle Reservoir, and Yarrow Valley Country Park to name a few. Plus, the northwest coast promises plenty of stunning beaches such as St. Anne’s beach, Fleetwood beach, Cleveleys beach, Morecambe beach and Blackpool beach.
