Last week, our North West office was proud to host a group of bright young people as part of the YPO Youth Masterclass Programme. This initiative gives 13–18 year olds the opportunity to explore different businesses, understand how they operate and gain real-world insights to support their academic journeys.

Throughout the day, our teams across Land, Technical, Commercial, Construction, Sales, Customer Care, and Marketing shared a “day in the life” of their profession. They spoke about their personal career journeys, how their role fits into the bigger picture and how success relies on collaboration with every other department. A common theme that became clear was teamwork is integral to everything we do at Wain Homes.

Another standout theme was the number of colleagues who have built their careers with us. Many of our speakers have been promoted several times, having started their journeys at Wain Homes and choosing to stay and progress within the business. It was a powerful example for the students of how rewarding and long-term a career in our industry can be.

The participants got hands-on too, designing their own site plan with guidance from our team, reviewing interior mood boards for our show homes at Cardwell Park and discovering what makes the perfect TikTok for property marketing.

The learning continued on-site at Cardwell Park, where they saw how ideas from head office come to life. From walking through the show homes to exploring our newly redesigned sales office with its interactive technology, they experienced first-hand the teamwork that goes into creating a Wain Homes community. They also met with our site managers and key tradespeople who bring our projects to life every day.

What stood out most was that no two career paths looked the same, a valuable reminder for these future professionals as they begin to make their own choices.
