Richard and Victoria’s Stress Free First Home Purchase With Wain

“It was the easiest process ever!” 

Victoria Miller and partner Richard Dawley had expected buying their first home to be a stressful experience, but in fact the whole journey, from first seeing a sign for Keyford on the Green in Frome, to moving in to their three-bedroom terrace, went without a hitch.

Victoria explains: “We weren’t actively looking for a property and it sort of all happened naturally. Richard is from Frome and we were walking through the town on a visit to his parents when we saw the development in an estate agent’s window.

“It looked lovely but although we had been saving for a deposit had no idea how much we could borrow and what our budget could be.

“So we made an appointment to visit the development and got great mortgage advice from the team recommended by Wain Homes and were then guided through the buying process.

“We put Richard’s flat on the market and it sold within a week to a cash buyer which meant we could get the exact plot we wanted.”

The couple were the first people to move into the development and 12 months on are now well and truly settled in and love the friendly and neighbourly community.

Victoria said: “There is such a mix of people and everyone is so friendly. I am originally from Ireland and when my family visited, our neighbour, who was finalist on TV’s Bake Off, left an Irish tea loaf on the doorstep so they felt at home! It was so sweet.”

The couple love the property’s south facing garden and the fact that a new build home allows them to spend more time enjoying holidays and short breaks and their hobbies.

Victoria said: “I always imagined buying a little cottage or a property that needed renovating but in reality that would mean all our money and every weekend spent doing it up where as now we spend the time how we like.

“My dad is a surveyor and advised buy a new build but buy a good one. He looked over the house with a fine-tooth comb and he could not fault it.

“We love the development and everyone at Wain Homes made buying our first home a really happy experience.”
