Severn Valley Golf Day Tees Up Funds for The Brightwell

A Bristol charity that supports people with chronic neurological conditions has been given a funding boost from a recent Wain Homes golf day.

Our Severn Valley region held its annual golf day at The Kendleshire in Coalpit Heath, with more than 100 golfers from the property and construction industry coming together to raise money for The Brightwell.

Based in Bradley Stoke, The Brightwell has been helping people living with conditions such as multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s, fibromyalgia, motor neurone disease and cancer, for more than 40 years and is our Severn Valley region’s current charity of the year.

The 27 teams which took part, alongside sponsors and an auction, raised nearly £11,000 for the charity which supports people from the Greater Bristol area, along with those living in South Gloucestershire, North Somerset, Bath, Wiltshire, South Wales and across the South West and the M4 corridor.

Nick Moore, managing director of Wain Homes Severn Valley, said: “It is an honour to be able to support the important work The Brightwell does looking after people suffering with neurological conditions in our local communities. 

“The conditions can seriously affect a person’s quality of life and I would like to thank everyone who either played or supported our golf day through sponsorship, which raised much-needed funds for The Brightwell to help them continue to provide their vital services.”

Victoria Hocquard from The Brightwell said: “The Brightwell is beyond grateful for the support from Wain Homes. This incredible total will help us to continue to provide crucial in person physiotherapy, oxygen therapy, clinics, mental health and carer support, for our community of over 400 people. Wain homes have been a pleasure to work with, their charity partnerships are heartfelt and genuine, and they should be so proud of the significant amount they have raised for local charities over the years.”
