Sophia and Macauley Find First Home at The Hedgerows
A burning desire to have a home they could call their own and decorate to their tastes led to Sophia Khan and her partner Macauley Cooper (both 24) becoming first time buyers at The Hedgerows in Blackburn.
After years of renting in Blackburn, Lancashire, the couple were frustrated in not being able to style their home the way they wanted and felt the time was right to take their first step on the property ladder.
Sophia explains: “When you are renting, the décor is down to the landlord and we really wanted a home we could make our own.
“We definitely wanted a new build so the property hadn’t been lived in before and everything is fresh and new. Wain Homes’ first time buyer package also appealed to us, meaning our new home had features such as integrated kitchen appliances, carpets and flooring and a turfed garden all included.”
The couple chose a three-bedroom Baird housetype for their first home and after moving in November last year have been impressed by how The Hedgerows has been designed.
“The development has been really well planned with plots facing in different directions meaning there aren’t simply straight streets with houses facing each other” said Sophia. “It has more character and is pleasant to walk around. There are lovely gardens which owners take great care of and there is a really nice community feel.”
The couple are also looking forward to the opening of a play park within the development in the coming months and are pleased their Baird house is spacious, after their family of three soon became five.
Sophia explains: “We moved into our new home with our five-year-old daughter and four months ago we welcomed our twins into the world, so we’ll be making the most of all the space our new home has to offer. It will also be lovely to have a play area so close to home for the children to enjoy safely.”
Having been initially attracted by the first time buyer package, Sophia and Macauley also highlighted Wain Homes’ customer service as another positive.
“Dan, the Wain Homes sales consultant was excellent throughout the process of buying our new home” said Sophia. “He kept us really well updated and informed and explained everything we needed to know. We only reserved in the September and were in our new home in November, so the process was very fast, straightforward and stress-free.
“The site team were also very helpful with the assistant site manager, Lewis, giving us a full induction into our new home and telling us he would be there for us if there was every anything we needed.
“It all made for a very positive experience.”
