Wain Homes Golf Day Tees Up Funds for Devon Hospice
Our South West region held its annual golf day raising nearly £15,500 for a Devon Hospice.
The event was held at Bovey Castle Golf Course on 24 July and saw 72 golfers in 18 teams from the property and construction sector compete and raise funds for Hospiscare.
Based in Exeter, Hospiscare is the hospice charity providing specialist care to patients and their families living with life-limiting illnesses across Exeter, Central and East Devon.
Steve Goldsworthy, regional managing director at Wain Homes South West, said: “It is difficult to put into words how important the work of Hospiscare is to communities across Devon and as an independent local charity we are proud to be supporting them as our charity of the year.
“Hospiscare offers support to more than 2,000 people every year living with life-limiting illnesses in Devon and needs to raise around £10million a year to continue to provide their care, so I would like to thank everyone who took part in our golf day, and to all our sponsors and those who donated auction prizes.”

We would like to thank everyone involved in the day, from those who competed to those who donated such incredible auction lots, all to raise vital funds and awareness for Hospiscare.”
The winning team on the day was MJL Contractors from Redruth, with O&K Carpentry from Newton Abbot in second place and Roadform Civil Engineering, also from Newton Abbot coming third.
Amongst the many auction lots donated were a helicopter ride, a hot air balloon experience, golf days at prestige South West courses and an overnight stay at Bovey Castle.
