Wain Homes site manager recognised by NHBC for high quality house building

A Wain Homes site manager from Weston-super-Mare has been recognised as one of the best in the UK after winning a prestigious housing industry award.

Curtis Allison, who works at our Mead Fields development in Banwell, has received a Pride in the Job 2026 Quality Award from NHBC, the UK’s largest provider of new home warranties and insurance.

Widely considered the ‘Oscars’ of the house-building industry, Pride in the Job celebrates site managers’ dedication to raising standards, showcasing best practice and rewarding excellence. Judging is rigorous, with entrants assessed across six key areas: consistency, attention to detail, leadership, interpretation of drawings and specifications, technical expertise and health and safety. 

This year, thousands of inspections were carried out to determine the 449 Quality Award winners from a field of more than 7,500 sites, placing Curtis among the top 6% of UK site managers.

Celebrating Curtis’ success, Nick Moore, regional managing director at Wain Homes, said: “We are immensely proud of Curtis and our construction team at Mead Fields. To be a Pride in the Job Quality Award winner is testament to consistently delivering excellence in housebuilding.

The judges look for site managers who go beyond strong performance and demonstrate qualities that lift a good site manager to an exceptional one.

“The competition is at the heart of NHBC’s core purpose to raise standards in house building. It inspires site managers to make their mark on the industry, earning the respect of their peers and leaving a legacy of homes built to the highest quality standards.”

Curtis will now go on to compete for Seal of Excellence and Regional Awards in the autumn, with the national Supreme Award winners unveiled in January 2027.
