Wain Homes builds approximately 1,200 homes a year from its three regional offices in Warrington, Bristol, and Exeter. It has ambitions to increase this to 1,600 homes over the next five years. Wain Estates operates nationally from Warrington. It is currently promoting 3,200 acres across the country.

We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Sales Director to be based out of our Severn Valley office in Bradley Stoke, Bristol, and to lead our sales team in driving revenue growth and achieving sales targets. The Sales Director will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing strategic sales initiatives, fostering strong customer relationships, and optimising the sales process to maximize profitability. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in sales leadership within the construction or housebuilding industry, along with strong leadership skills and a passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences.

 

Key responsibilities:

Strategic Planning:

Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve company objectives and revenue targets.
Identify new market opportunities and trends to capitalize on.

 

Sales Leadership:

Provide leadership, guidance, and coaching to the sales team to foster a high-performance culture.
Set clear sales targets and objectives and monitor progress towards goals.

 

Team Development:

Recruit, train, and develop sales staff to ensure they have the skills and resources needed to succeed, whilst fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and professional growth.
Provide ongoing support and feedback.

 

Customer Relationship Management:

Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, stakeholders, and partners.
Ensure customer satisfaction by addressing enquiries, resolving issues, and delivering exceptional service.

 

Sales Process Optimisation:

Continuously evaluate and improve the sales process to streamline operations, increase efficiency, and enhance overall performance.
Implement best practices and leverage technology solutions where applicable.

 

Market Analysis:

Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and market conditions to identify opportunities and threats.
Adjust sales strategies as needed to stay ahead of the competition.
Utilise data-driven insights to continually refine sales and marketing approaches and achieve better results.

 

Financial Management:

Develop and manage sales budgets, forecasts, and expenses to ensure profitability and cost-effectiveness.
Monitor sales metrics and KPIs to track performance and make data-driven decisions.

 

Collaboration:

Work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, construction, and finance, to align sales efforts with overall business objectives.
Collaborate on product development, pricing strategies, and promotional activities.

 

Compliance:

Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies related to sales activities, contracts, and customer interactions.
Maintain ethical standards and integrity in all dealings.

 

Desirable skills and qualifications:

 

Proven track record of success in a sales leadership role within the housebuilding sector, property development, or a related industry.
Strong understanding of the residential property market and trends.
Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute effective sales strategies.
Strong business acumen with a deep understanding of sales processes, market dynamics, and customer behaviour.
Proven track record of financial management and budget oversight.
Proven expertise in financial acumen, including a demonstrated ability to analyse financial data and make informed decisions to drive business success.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to inspire and motivate a team.
Results-oriented mindset with a focus on driving revenue growth and achieving targets.
Ability to analyse data and market insights to inform decision-making.
Creative thinker with the ability to innovate and adapt to changing market dynamics.
Ability to manage suppliers and consultants with clear instructions and efficiency.
Full UK driving licence.
Willingness to travel as needed.
