Children at Saint Mary's Catholic Voluntary Academy in New Mills in the High Peak now have an exciting outdoor learning and play area to enjoy after calling on support from Wain Homes.
We donated £500 to the primary school on Longlands Road to pay for materials and equipment to transform part of the outdoor area into a covered, useable space for learning and relaxation.
As well as the donation, members of our North West team visited the school and spent a day building, landscaping and paving as part of our ‘Helping Hands’ initiative.
Helping Hands will see everybody in the Wain Homes’ team volunteer for a day helping out good causes in their local community.
Sue Butler, chair of the PTA at St Mary’s Academy, said: “We want to say a huge thank you to Wain Homes, not only for their generous donation which has helped us buy many of the materials we needed to complete this project, but also to the team of helpers who worked tirelessly on a very hot day making the site look amazing. They worked brilliantly as a team and nothing was too much trouble.
“We didn’t have any shaded areas for our children but now we have a space that can be used for outdoor learning projects and an area for our SEND students for open-air nurturing.”
Wain Homes will soon be launching a new development of 2,3 and 4-bedroom energy efficient homes and 1 and 2 bedroom apartments close to the school at High Hill View on Hayfield Road.
Andrew Blundell, sales director at Wain Homes, said: “As a responsible developer we want to support the communities in which we build so we were proud to have helped St Mary’s deliver this project which will greatly benefit the students.
“I know the PTA and friends of the school worked incredibly hard raising money and volunteering their time and I’m pleased our donation and team of helping hands were able to make a real difference.”
High Hill View is the second Wain Homes development in the High Peak with our Forge Manor development in Chinley proving popular for house buyers.
Andrew added: “Forge Manor was named as one of the best developments in the North West at a recent property awards event and this is no surprise given its stunning location.
“We expect interest in High Hill View to be just as strong, given New Mills’ accessibility for commuting and for enjoying the beautiful countryside right on the doorstep.
“We think the wide range of apartments and homes we are building here will appeal to local people and help many find their dream home in their home town.”
