Kind-hearted members of our South West team donated much-needed food, toiletries and pet food to help replenish supplies at Newquay Foodbank.
The charity, which is headquartered close to our development of new homes in Nansledan, supports people in Newquay and the surrounding areas and approached us for help after the number of people needing its support doubled in the past six months.
Wain Homes colleagues from our Exeter headquarters joined with our development team at Nansledan to donate vital supplies of food and household items.
Zoe Nixon, operations manager at Newquay Foodbank, said: “Thank you to everyone at Wain Homes for making this donation which will help many families here in Newquay.
“As demand for our support continues to rise, donations such as this make a huge difference to people in our local community and enables us to help as many people as we can.”
The Newquay Foodbank was founded in 2011 by the community, to support the community, and aims to help those who need it back to financial independence.
The charity provides food and other essential items to address the immediate need, then works with a wide variety of agencies to get access to support plans to get people back on their feet.
