All the Stars Aligned and It’s the Best Move We Could Have Made

Anthony and Charlotte Clubley from Gloucestershire were so undecided about whether to extend their current home or move to a new one they had even considered asking for help from Channel 4’s ‘Love It or List It’ programme with Kirstie Allsopp and Phil Spencer!

Charlotte explains: “We have three children and an extended family and needed more space but Anthony was adamant he was not moving unless we found the perfect property! We had been looking at houses for two and a half years over lock down and also explored options to extend into the roof. We were so undecided we did consider asking Kirstie and Phil for help!”

But in summer 2022 they took the plunge and put the house on the market with a local agent and because of the amount of interest held an Open Day.

Charlotte continues: “We left them to it and went to look at five properties including the show home at Fallow Fields in Twigworth, close to where we were living. The location was perfect and would mean the children would not have to change schools but we thought it was out of our price range.

“It was our last visit of the day and a Newton house type plot had just come back to the market and we both absolutely loved it. We spent an anxious Sunday knowing it was the house we wanted and on the Monday, we had five offers for our house so we raced back to the sales centre and put our deposit down.

“It really did feel like all the stars had aligned and we got our perfect forever home.”

The Newton is a spacious four-bedroom house with a spacious open plan kitchen family/ dining/ area which spans the back of the property and a separate living room at the front and four bedrooms upstairs, including the master suite.

The Wain Homes team helped smooth the sales process and with their purchasers being first time buyers there was no tricky chain to negotiate.

Charlotte said: “For us the process was really efficient as the Wain team kept us informed and we moved in September. Everyone was very professional and helpful.

“The children love having their own bedrooms and we had all the family here for Christmas and the house worked really well. It is a big plot with a huge garden, which the children love, and the whole development has a friendly feel.

“I started a WhattsApp Group with the neighbours around Christmas so we know other families with young children have moved in and it will be a great place to grow up.

“Both Anthony and I are from forces families and moved around a lot and we wanted a forever settled home for the children.”

Anthony is an electrician working for a major contractor so the proximity to the motorway network and cities of Cheltenham and Gloucester makes getting to jobs easy.

Charlotte said: “The firm actually works with a lot of new homes developers and he knew Wain Homes are Gold Standard and the finish of the properties is really, really, good.

“The development also has a really nice feel, it is not big and overwhelming and there’s lots of space in front of the house.

“We honestly feel we could not have made a better move and we are all thrilled.”
