Like Mother Like Daughter – Pam and Holly Become Neighbours at Latune Gardens

A visit to her mum Pam’s new house at Latune Gardens in Lathom, Lancashire, was all it took for Holly Bradley to realise where she wanted to buy her forever home.

Pam moved into her new Wain Homes property at Latune Gardens with husband David and their youngest daughter in September 2023, after deciding they wanted an energy efficient new home without the need for any expensive and time-consuming decorating or renovation.

Pam explains: “We had spent 17 years in our previous home and we really fancied buying a new-build home, somewhere we could simply walk in with everything new and fresh and nothing needing doing.

“We did our homework, researching housebuilders online and we were really impressed by the reviews and recommendations for Wain Homes. And meeting Wain’s sales executive, George, for the first time at Latune Gardens, it was easy to see why. He was so helpful and gave us total confidence in the company. Unlike some other developers we visited, he would always call us when he said he would and kept us well informed and updated.”

After moving into their new four-bedroom detached Newton housetype, which appealed to Pam because of the “super open plan kitchen diner and the layout of the home which allowed us to go into the kitchen without having to walk through the lounge”, Pam invited daughter Holly around and she immediately fell in love with the development.

Holly said: “My fiancé Ryan and I were starting to look for our forever home and when we visited my mum’s new house in October we felt right at home. We wanted a bigger home and we saw the four-bedroom Hatherleigh Bay on a corner plot and I thought ‘this is gorgeous!’

“It has a lovely wrap-around garden, a big kitchen diner, all the rooms are very spacious and the development has a really rural feel, sort of countryside living but with easy access to towns and cities like Ormskirk and Liverpool for shopping and socialising.

“George arranged for Wain Homes to part-exchange our old house, and the whole process took just eight weeks and we were able to move in the week before Christmas, meaning we could put up our Christmas tree in our new home, which made it feel even more special. The part exchange was amazing, no stress or worry, just a smooth journey into a new home.”

Latune Gardens is now a great base for a family of healthcare professionals to commute to work.

Nurse Pam works three days a week in Southport and David is a district nurse operating out of Skelmersdale. Holly is a healthcare nurse in Ormskirk, which is only a short 10-minute journey away.

Holly adds: “Everyone at Wain Homes has been brilliant with both mum and me. They are all really approachable, friendly and on-the-ball; anything we need and they are straight there for us.

“Our homes are incredibly energy efficient, in fact I’ve not even had to use the heating for the past month as the home keeps so warm.

“And it’s nice that I can actually see mum’s house from mine; it is a lovely development and we’re all really happy here.”
