As soon as Jodie Conroy and her partner Justin saw the ‘coming soon’ signs for Carding Place, they knew this was where they wanted to buy their first home.
Having previously rented a new-build home, the couple were living temporarily at Jodie’s parents’ house close to the Carding Place development and loved the idea of being the first owners of a new property.
Jodie explains: “We like the fact a new home is fresh and nothing has previously been used so we had decided to begin our property search looking for new build homes.
“Carding Place is just around the corner from where we were living and we wanted to stay in Hyde, as it is convenient for my job in Ashton-under-Lyne and for Justin who travels frequently into Manchester city centre.
“When we saw the floorplans for the three-storey Jenner we loved the idea of having a huge bedroom suite on the top floor so we visited another Wain Homes development on the Fylde Coast in Lancashire to see a Jenner show home and we were blown away, by both the design and the quality of the finish.
“And being able to buy our new home with just a 5% deposit was the icing on the cake and made our first home purchase achievable.”
Jodie and Justin, along with daughter Chloe (22) and son Theo (7), were the first family to move into a new home at Carding Place and the four-bedroom Jenner is now home to three generations of the family following the arrival of a baby grandson on New Year’s Day.
“Now we are in the property, we are so pleased we went for the Jenner” explains Jodie. “The bedroom suite is massive and gives us a space to take a break and relax. Even though this room could be used for a range of different purposes, we’re definitely keeping it as our bedroom as we love the space, the en suite and the Velux windows.”
After moving into their home the week before Christmas 2023, the family only have positive things to say about their experience.
Jodie explains: “Everyone at Wain Homes has been amazing and we can’t thank them enough. Our sales adviser, Claire, has been brilliant, always calling when she said she would and keeping us updated and informed an everything from build updates to upgrade choices.
“Colin and Chris from the Wain Homes site team visited us on the day we moved in to show us round our new home and told us to give them a call if we had any questions and when we have needed them, we’ve never waited more than one hour for a response.
“We had looked at another new build home from a different housebuilder before we found our Wain home but even through that property was more expensive, the finish was nowhere near as good as in our Jenner.
“As an independent, family housebuilder, the people we have dealt with at Wain Homes have been so much more friendly and helpful, we definitely made the right move.”
