When Gemma and Christian set their hearts on buying a new-build home, there was only one development in their minds.

The couple were the first to reserve a new home at Wain Homes’ Pinfold Manor development in Broughton, near Preston, after taking advice from friends living on another nearby Wain development.

Gemma, who works in her family’s business, said: “I’m local to Broughton and work nearby and Christian is working in central Preston so Broughton is the perfect location for us. It is also not far to commute between both our parents’ houses which will be great.

“We kept our eyes on this site and made contact with Wain Homes’ Sales Executive who contacted us as soon as the property we wanted was released for sale.”

That property is a four-bedroom Eton housetype, featuring large open plan living spaces, a study and a double garage.

“The master bedroom not only has an en suite but also has a walk-in-wardrobe which we both loved” explains Gemma. “It also has a study which is perfect for Christian to work from home.

“We know people who live in an Eton property at a Wain development in Catterall who kindly invited us to come and look at their home. When we visited they had lots of guests around and the open-plan kitchen/diner was the perfect place for socialising and entertaining, especially with the bi-fold doors opening out to the rear of the property.”

Energy efficiency and practicality were also key drivers behind the couple choosing a new-build property as their first home.

“This house will be efficient to heat compared to an older home” explains Gemma. “In fact, it even qualifies for an eco Green Mortgage due to its energy efficiency. We also liked the fact our house will be ready to simply move into as a blank canvas, ready to add our personal touch and make it our home without the need for a renovation.”

Gemma and Christian are now counting the days until their first new home will be ready to move into in early 2023 and are in regular contact with the team at Pinfold Manor.

Gemma said: “Lorraine Brown, the Sales Executive, has been brilliant and keeps us regularly updated and is always available to talk to and ask questions.

“We have also visited our plot with Site Manager Derek who regularly sends us pictures of our new home at each stage of construction which only makes the excitement build even more!”

Wain Homes is building a range of 2, 3, 4 and 5-bedroom homes at Pinfold Manor which is within walking distance of the ‘Outstanding’ rated Broughton High School.
