Families with school age children are well served by the primary and secondary schools in and around Kidderminster. In fact, there are 20 schools in the town rated either as “Outstanding” or “Good” by Ofsted. The one “Outstanding” school is Wilden All Saints CofE Primary School, whilst the “Good” schools include St. Ambrose Catholic Primary, Holy Trinity School and St. George’s CofE School. Birmingham University is also close by.

Residents of Kidderminster have the opportunity to enjoy green open spaces with a selection of parks in and around the town. The best of which is Brinton Park, which has recently undergone a £2.4million redevelopment. To really get out and explore nature, a trip to Habberley Valley Local Nature Reserve – and the Habberley Trail – is recommended. And for something a little closer to home, you can’t beat a stroll along the canal.

Family-friendly attractions in the area include the West Midland Safari Park, Wyre Forest Heritage Trail, the Severn Valley Railway, Harvington Hall and Hartlebury Castle. To really learn about Kidderminster’s heritage, make sure you visit the Carpet Museum.

Kidderminster also has great transport links. The town has two railway stations, located just 50 metres apart. You can catch the direct train to Worcester in just 26 minutes, whilst the journey into Birmingham will take you around 45 minutes – both services run from Kidderminster station. If you head to Kidderminster Town station, you can hop on the famous Severn Valley Railway. A number of major A roads run into Kidderminster, connecting it with the rest of the Midlands. Birmingham Airport is also less than an hour’s drive from the town.
