Land Secured in Coventry For 120 New Homes

Our new West Midlands region has announced its latest site acquisition after exchanging contracts on land to the west of Coventry.

We have secured the 12-acre site on Banner Lane with outline planning permission for 120 new homes.

Banner Lane will see the construction of new two, three and four-bedroom homes, consisting of houses, bungalows and apartments. The development will also include 30 ‘affordable’ homes, with work expected to commence in Q2 2023.

The £37 million development is the latest in a number of recent land acquisitions. Since launching the new West Midlands region from our Solihull headquarters in 2021, the region has secured six sites which will deliver in excess of 600 new homes with a combined GDV of circa £190m.

A number of further sites are in the legal process cementing our commitment to delivering new homes across the West Midlands.

West Midlands managing director, Andy Peters, said: “Banner Lane comes hot on the heels of us securing development sites for 110 new homes in Shirley, Solihull; 49 homes in Rowney Green, Worcestershire; 31 homes in Shifnal, Telford and work is now also underway on 128 homes in Loggerheads, on the border of Shropshire and Staffordshire.

“Banner Lane is an exciting scheme for us, situated on the western fringe of Coventry. It’s just a six-minute train ride to the city centre from Tile Hill station located less than a mile from the site. It is also bordered by greenbelt and close to the popular residential villages of Meriden and Balsall Common with excellent accessibility to Birmingham City Centre, Birmingham Airport and the M42 and M6 motorways.

“Acquiring the Banner Lane site demonstrates our appetite and ability to secure prime residential development sites in the West Midlands where landowners and agents have the confidence of the 50-year heritage and brand values behind the Wain name.

“As an independently-owned business, we are able to offer a more flexible and nimble approach to land acquisition which can see a deal agreed in days rather than months and makes us an exciting proposition for those with land to sell.”
