Middleton rose to prominence in the Industrial Revolution as a rural mill town where silk and cotton were made. Whilst it's now a leafy suburb of Greater Manchester, Middleton has retained much of its traditional charm. The town’s historic centre, called the ‘Golden Cluster’, features a wealth of period and blue plaque buildings, including St. Leonard's Church and the Old Boar's Head Inn, a pub over 500 years old.
Although steeped in history, Middleton is a thoroughly modern town, boasting first-rate amenities. Middleton Shopping Centre offers a wealth of shops, plus you’ll find a wide selection of excellent cafes and restaurants. Middleton Arena is a modern, £13 million sports and leisure centre with an extensive gym, swimming pools, indoor courts, and a 500 seat auditorium that regularly hosts concerts and performances.

Situated on the M60 and M62, Middleton gives excellent access to northern England, whilst Manchester provides national train lines. Manchester Airport is a short journey away, offering national and international flights.
