Fleetwood was a town revitalised by the landowner Peter Hesketh-Fleetwood in the 19th century. That past is still very much evident today in Fleetwood’s abundance of Victorian era architecture, including its two famous lighthouses, granting Fleetwood a charming, attractive character.
With more recent regeneration projects however, Fleetwood is very much a modern thriving British town. You’ll find a wealth of local, independent shops and businesses in Fleetwood, plus excellent shopping at Affinity Lancashire – a discount shopping outlet with stores for over 40 major brands. Other attractions in Fleetwood include the historic Marine Hall Theatre, Fleetwood’s bustling 200+ stall market, family excitement at Marine Splash, football at Fleetwood Town F.C., and more.
Of course, a big benefit of living in Fleetwood is its coastal location. Fleetwood shares seven miles of broad sandy beaches with other resorts on the Fylde Coast, including Blackpool. Residents enjoy a stunning beachside promenade, a beautiful harbour and yacht marina, beach and water sports activities, and some award winning fish and chips shops. The bright lights of Blackpool are also a short tram ride away.
As well as Fleetwood beach, the town is excellently situated for exploring the great outdoors, with miles of coastal walks in easy access. You’ll also find impressive countryside close by, including the Forest of Bowland, Beacon Fell, the Yorkshire Dales and The Lake District,
