Wain Sponsorship Gives Boost to North Devon Show

Members of our South West team had some fun down on the farm as guests at the North Devon Show, after Wain Homes headline sponsored the event.

The agricultural show, held at Umberleigh Barton Farm in South Molton, is designed to support agriculture and to provide a shop window for anyone involved in the economy of North Devon.  

Wain Homes provided £1,000 of sponsorship to the event which attracts thousands of visitors from across the region and has been a much-loved family event for generations.

Our South West team were invited to judge the trade stands at the event, selecting Come Bye – a farm with animals that help people suffering with dementia and mental health as the winner –  as well as prize-giving for ridden and show hunter ponies.

Suzie Wakefield, our South West regional marketing coordinator and a keen equestrian herself, said: “We all had a wonderful day supporting the judging and were so impressed with the commitment of all the volunteers and participants in the classes with the time and effort they put into their entries.

“It is such a wonderful show that offers a variety of educational experiences and something for everyone to see, and it was a delight to have such sunny weather and see all the crowds coming in to enjoy the day. We had great conversations with local traders and businesses which are based in the local area.”

The North Devon Agricultural Society is based in South Molton, where we are building our Molbrook development of family homes and the show itself is also within a short distance of our Otters Reach development in Yelland and our Kingsland site in Westward Ho!.

Suzie added: “We know how important the North Devon Show is for the rural communities and the economy in this part of the county and we were pleased to be able to play our part in providing sponsorship to contribute to another successful event.

“The show is just one of the many fun family days out people living in this beautiful part of the world can enjoy and we wish the event every success for the years ahead.”
